This is a very difficult family to piece together, because no list of his children appears in the McNitt and McNutt history and I have not found any unattached McNutts of the right ages. All that the author says is that "I am somewhat mixed as to the families of Uncle Daniel and Uncle Alexander. I know of some of them but am not sure whether they are of Uncle Daniel's or Uncle Alexander's family."
Alexander appears to be unmarried in the 1820 census of Seneca, Sandusky County, Ohio (the male and female who were over 45 coud be his parents). In the 1830 census of Harris, Sandusky County, a wife and three daughters are listed. In the 1840 census of Seneca County, a wife, two daughters, and two sons are listed. I have not been able to find any of his children in later records.
They had the following children.
+ 2 M i Daughter born 1821-1825 + 3 F ii Daughter born 1821-1825 + 4 F iii Daughter born 1825-1830 + 5 F iv Son born 1831-1835 + 6 F v Son born 1835-1840
