Anna Obry (Aubry) was born in 1855 in Darke County, Ohio and raised in
the French immigrant community there. Her mother and father had
both
left France with their parents about 15 years previously. Her ancestors were
mostly from small towns near Verdun in the department of the Meuse,
although a few were from Meurthe-et-Moselle. Both Meuse and Meurthe-et-Moselle
are part of Lorraine in northeast
France.
